I've always wondered why it is that ESPN is so firmly against MMA. Any story, rhyme, or reason behind it?

I've always wondered why it is that ESPN is so firmly against MMA. Any story, rhyme, or reason behind it? This is a couple paragraphs taken from the article: The UFC commercials that had been appearing frequently on ESPN and ESPNews were already a violation Disney's company policy, which expressly prohibits "advertisements or promotions of any sports program" that does not air on a Disney-owned television network.
This is not limited to the UFC. It would also be against the Disney/ESPN corporate policy for a Disney-owned network to advertise a sports program that airs on USA Network, or a sports program that airs on Fox Sports Net, or a sports program that airs on any other non-Disney-owned network. So basically, Disney/ESPN have a policy that any sporting event that is not aired on a Disney-owned channel, cannot be advertised on such channel. Pretty lame if you ask me.

there is a fight channel... its called the fight network. and i think the main reason espn is not behind mma is becuz they are big in the boxing world. they believe mma is bad for there sport

you're probably pretty dead on there Hammerhead. I'm sure in a lot of ways it is seen as a threat to boxing, which is a much more big money sport.
